About PHCN Targeted web search
How does this differ to just using Google?
Instead of searching all web pages, using the PHCN Targeted web search tool looks for results in only a small number of web sites which are highly relevant to public health commissioning. This makes the results more focused and, hopefully, more likely to come up with useful answers.
Is it possible to add this search engine to my browser?
Yes! Most modern web browsers now have a search engine box in the top right of the browser window. You can usually change the search engine you use (e.g. Google, Bing, Yahoo etc.) by clicking an arrow next to the box. You should find that when you are on the Targeted web search page an extra option is available - if you select this option you can then use the PHCN Targeted web search from wherever you are on the web, through your browser, rather than having to go back to PHCN. Please get in touch if you have any comments or feedback about doing this. Thanks.
Which sites are searched?
Currently, Targeted web search looks at the sites listed below. To suggest sites to add/remove please email Dr Tom Porter - thanks.
